I am Clinical Professor in
the Department of Psychiatry,
Author/co-author
of teaching and professional materials, including book and book chapters, and
articles in the professional literature.
Among these are a chapter
entitled "Private Practice Issues" in the textbook Comprehensive
Review of Geriatric Psychiatry, Third Edition, published in 2004, as well
as the corresponding question and answer section in the Comprehensive Review
of Geriatric Psychiatry, Third Edition, Study Guide
published in 2005.
I teach classes to medical
residents, to physicians in practice, to nurses and other health care providers
and as well as to other psychiatrists, to help them improve the care given to
the elderly, especially those with emotional and mental disorders.
I have been a Lecturer at
local, regional, national, and international conferences.
In March, 2008, I presented “Images of Aging in
the Cinema”
at the Twenty First Annual Meeting of the American Association for Geriatric
Psychiatry,
At this meeting, I also
taught a program on Geriatric Psychiatry Practice Management, designed to
encourage and assist psychiatrists going into the field of treating older
patients.
